A model, built from plans,is used to control the machines used in construction. This allows for increased precision , so increases productivity.
What is involved in training for operators to use machine control models?
Most operators can become productive with about 15 minutes of training
I don’t have machines capable of using GPS models, but I would like to incorporate this technology in the future. Can CMC consult on this?
Yes.
Are you an engineering or surveying firm?
No. We use the project plans (PDF and CAD).
How long does it take CMC to fulfill client requests for models? Take-off?
This depends on size of project, number of projects we have submitted at the time. We understand that time is money, so we are dedicated to getting our models or take-offs back to the client as quickly as possible.
Do you perform construction tasks, submit bids, or purchase inventory on behalf of clients?
No. We build the construction machine control models and perform quantity analysis.
How far is CMC able to operate across the US?
We can operate globally for modelling and take-off, since this work is completed with electronic data.
What does CMC do with models after the project is completed? Take-off information?
All information is archived after delivery to the client.
How does using machine control models help with accuracy? Efficiency?
Vastly decreases man hours used to set stakes, layout roads, utilities, mark cut/fill, etc.
What do you use to make the models or do the take-off?
Agtek, Topcon, Pix 4D, and other software.
Does CMC offer both remote and in-person consultations?
Yes.
What information is included in the take-off?
This is dictated by the client needs. We can include dirtwork, erosion control,base-pave-curb&gutter,stone, etc. Whatever the client is bidding on, we can usually quantify it.
